With the mood in their camp rightfully at a real …

Ronaldo´s France drought continues and Portugal pay the price

Portugal can usually rely on Cristiano Ronaldo to find the net, with only Iran s Ali Daei topping his international tally of 102 goals.

But that has not been the case against world champions France, who have never conceded to the Juventus superstar.

Ronaldo again drew a blank against Les Bleus in a 1-0 Nations League defeat on Saturday which saw holders Portugal lose the opportunity to reach the Finals and defend their title.

It was the sixth time the former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward had played France without netting, which is his worst such goalless record against any single opponent for club or country.

Only once has Ronaldo beaten France and even then he played a mere 25 minutes, although that came in the Euro 2016 final that made the…

Fellaini set for Galatasaray switch

Talksport understands that Marouane Fellaini has agreed a deal to sign for Galatasaray at the the end of the season.

The Manchester United midfielder has been continuously linked with a move away from Old Trafford in recent months with his current contract set to expire at the end of the season.

He is now set to call time on his five year stint with the Red Devils, despite Jose Mourinho expressing his desire for him to remain with the club.

After featuring regularly for United over the past few years the Belgium international has been used sparingly this term, with him starting just three league games.

Last season he played forty-seven times in all competitions and was integral to his sides success in both the EFL Cup and Europa League.

Mbappe fully focused on Paris Saint-Germain despite World Cup heartbreak

Kylian Mbappe will not get over France s defeat in the World Cup final to Argentina any time soon, but the forward says he is now fully focused on Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite notching a hat-trick for Didier Deschamps side in the final, Mbappe and his international team-mates came up short as Les Bleus were beaten on penalties in the showpiece game of Qatar 2022.

While club-mate Lionel Messi is yet to return to Paris following his triumph, Mbappe made a swift return to domestic action, securing a late 2-1 win against Strasbourg in Ligue 1 on Wednesday despite Neymar being sent off just after the hour-mark.

Speaking after scoring a 96th-minute penalty he had won himself, the 24-year-old acknowledged the pain of France s loss in Doha will stay with him forever, but…

Prediction: Crystal Palace vs Brighton

As for the visitors, while Brighton may have impressed against both Arsenal and Wolves since opening December, Head Coach Graham Potter has seen his side collect just four points out of a possible 15 nearing closer to Christmas. With their 2-1 victory over Arsenal earlier in the month their only Premier League victory since the 2nd of November, the Seagulls are still searching for some defensive stability. Without a clean sheet in any of their last five appearances, they have also shipped at least a pair of goal in four of their last six matchups and have just a single clean sheet away from the Amex this season. If Brighton are to secure a third consecutive victory over their M23 rivals on Monday, Potter will be calling on leading marksman and summer arrival Neal Maupay to lead their ch…

Slimani heading for Lyon

According to a recent report from Gianluca Di Marzio, Leicester City striker Islam Slimani is set for a medical with Lyon ahead of a proposed move.

While Slimani certainly has an awful lot of potential, he has rarely been given the chance to showcase that with the Foxes in recent times. Leicester are starting to firmly establish themselves as regular challengers for a place in the top six and for whatever reason, Slimani isn’t a big part of Brendan Rodgers plans.

The 32-year-old first joined Leicester back in 2016 and has since been on three separate loan spells out of the club to Newcastle, Fenerbahce and Monaco. Now, he ll be returning to Ligue 1 with the hope being that he can inject some new life into the final few years of his professional career.

Roma keen on Ajax’s Moisander

Italian giants AS Roma are considering a bid for Ajax defender Niklas Moisander, .

The Giallorossi have been quite active over the last few days, signing Seydou Doumbia and Victor Ibarbo while seeing Mattia Destro join AC Milan.

However, it would appear their work in the January transfer window is not over yet, with Roma set for a late assault on Ajax stopper Niklas Moisander.

The 29-year-old is available on a cut-price deal seeing as he has opted against signing an extension to the contract that expires at the end of the season.

Roma officials have until midnight to try and complete the deal for the player who has spent the majority of his career in the Netherlands.

Moisander joined Ajax from TPS in 2004, and also represented PEC Zwolle and AZ…

Graeme Shinnie urges ‘deflated’ Aberdeen to bounce back against St Johnstone

Aberdeen captain Graeme Shinnie believes they have the squad and mentality to shake off their European exertions and frustration and deal with the visit of St Johnstone on Sunday.

The Dons were looking to follow up a hat-trick of domestic wins when they hosted HJK Helsinki in the Europa Conference League on Thursday but fell behind against the run of play and had to settle for a 1-1 draw after Bojan Miovski levelled.

Shinnie said: “We were a bit deflated. It felt like we played well so the frustration and disappointment is not having won the game.

It was a frustrating night.

Bitesize Prediction: North Macedonia vs Georgia – 09/06/22

Market: Over 1.5 goals

Odds: 4/9 @

Two sides who should find the moods in their camp at a red-hot high, North Macedonia will host Georgia on Thursday night.

Starting with the hosts, while North Macedonia might have been left heartbroken out in Portugal earlier in the year, the Lynxes have continued to impress many across Europe. Despite eventually getting hit with a 2-0 loss against the former European champions, Blagoja Milevski s men have certainly come roaring back. Putting in a dominant display as they picked up a 2-0 victory against Gibraltar on foreign soil last weekend, the mood in their camp should still be at a real high. Suffering just a pair of defeats from their last 11 matchups across all formats, a run that stems back to June 2021, North Macedonia …

12 de Octubre 1 Nacional Asuncion 1: Winning run ends for visitors

Nacional Asuncion saw their three-game winning streak end in a 1-1 Division Profesional draw at 12 de Octubre on Wednesday.

Nacional have won three titles since 2009 but made a slow start to this Clausura season.

They took just three points from their first three matches but Gustavo Morinigo s side hit back strongly posting three successive wins.

And while their winning run was halted in Itaugua, they will at least take solace from the fact they came from behind to claim a point.

Midfielder Jorge Armoa put 12 de Octubre just four points adrift of the bottom in front in the 10th minute.

But Silvio Torales netted his third in goal in two games to level proceedings for Nacional.

Torales 27th-minute strike ensured both sides shared the spoils.…
