Summer transfer window deadline day 2018/19 update

Here we are again, another transfer deadline day that is expected to be a highly busy one with many teams up and down the country trying to strengthen their squads ahead of today’s 5 PM deadline.

On this page, we will update you on the deals that have happened in the last 24 hours, the deals that are close and of course the rumoured deals.

Done deals

The day before transfer deadline day is famous for seeing a flurry of activity. This window has been no different with some major deals concluded, much of the activity surrounding Chelsea.

The Blues completed an extraordinary deal to sign Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga joined from Athletic Bilbao for a fee in the region of £71.6million, a world record fee for a goalkeeper.

Kepa arrived to replace B…

20-02-2010 Arsenal vs Sunderland

The reverse of this fixture back in November saw Sunderland s last victory in the Premier League, which Arsenal will want to avenge, particularly given their disappointing performance against Porto in the Champions League in midweek.

Arsenal will be kicking themselves after what has been a poor run over the last few weeks by their high standards. Losing to Porto in the Champions League thanks to two glaring goalkeeping errors will have caused cancerns for Arsene Wenger, particularly as he conceded recently that he declined investment in the squad in January despite generous offers from the board. There is a clear lack of confidence between the sticks for Arsenal this season, and whoever gets the nod in the Sunderland game will hope for a quiet afternoon. The return of Sol Campb…

Shakhtar CEO expecting big move for Sudakov

Shakhtar Donetsk CEO Sergey Palkin believes Giorgi Sudakov will go onto big things if he can produce more stand-out performances in the Champions League.

The 22-year-old is thought to be one of the rising stars in European football, having helped Shakhtar to the Ukrainian Premier League in the last two seasons.

He was also one of the standout players of Ukraine s Euro 2024 campaign, creating the third-most chances (four) and having the most shots (nine), though he failed to hit the back of the net as they exited in the group stage.

With the start of their next Champions League campaign just around the corner – they kick off against Bologna on Wednesday – Palkin is expecting big things from the young midfielder.

See you soon!

Coronavirus: FA committed to completing 2019-20 FA Cup

The Football Association (FA) hopes to complete the 2019-20 FA Cup and Women s FA Cup when it is safe and appropriate to do so .

English football has been suspended amid the coronavirus pandemic, with the Premier League, Football League and Women s Super League all paused.

There have been almost 10,000 confirmed cases of the virus in the United Kingdom and close to 500 deaths.

League action has been put on hold until at least April 30, although the FA has extended the season indefinitely in a bid to complete the 2019-20 campaign.

And in a statement released on Thursday, English football s governing body outlined its commitment to its cup competitions.

Referring also to the non-league FA Trophy and FA Vase, the FA said of the FA Cup and Women s FA …

Del Bosque urges Spain to recapture Euro 2012 form in Ukraine

Vicente del Bosque wants Spain to recapture the form they showed in the Euro 2012 final on their return to Ukraine on Monday.

An emphatic 4-0 win over Italy in the showpiece in Kiev three years ago saw Spain become the first side to win back-to-back European Championships, which came either side of a World Cup triumph following their victory over Netherlands in South Africa in 2010.

As he prepares to take his side back to the scene of their triumph in Ukraine, Del Bosque admits it remains the finest performance he has seen from his side in his seven-year spell in the role.

The final in Kiev in 2012 was the best game in my time as head coach. I hope we can reach that standard again, he said.

We come here at an ideal time. We ll play with complete cour…

Packers vs Chiefs Week 9 Picks and Predictions: Don't Pack It in Yet

So, anything of note to talk about ahead of the game between the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead?

Jordan Love’s Packers will head to Kansas City as 7.5-point NFL betting underdogs after the series of unfortunate events in Green Bay this week. While the line understandably moved even more in the home Chiefs’ direction, has it swung too far?

Here are our best free picks and predictions for Packers vs. Chiefs, with kickoff on November 7.

Ravens vs Jets Week 1 Picks and Predictions: Lamar and Co. Bully New York in the Trenches

Nothing hits quite like that first Sunday of a brand new NFL season, and the Baltimore Ravens’ trip to face the New York Jets at MetLife is one of the most interesting games on the early slate. There was hope that this was a new start for New York after a brilliant draft, but the injury to Zach Wilson has always curtailed that early enthusiasm.

Find out how much that injury will affect the outcome in our free NFL betting picks and predictions for the Ravens vs. Jets.

Dolphins vs Jaguars Preseason Picks and Predictions: Jags Devour Dolphins in Preseason Finale

Miami will make the trek up I-95 on Saturday as the Dolphins play their final preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Miami has split their two preseason games thus far, and are coming in off a 28-3 victory at Houston a week ago. Tua Tagovailoa saw limited action and threw a pick in his two drives on the field. For the Jaguars, it’s been a perfect preseason so far, and a win on Saturday would give them just their second flawless preseason in franchise history and first in 26 years.

It’s the final preparation game for two teams with playoff aspirations, and we discuss how you should bet on the NFL odds in our Dolphins vs Jaguars NFL picks and predictions for Saturday, August 26.

Steelers vs Browns Odds, Picks, and Predictions Week 11: Thompson-Robinson Uses His Legs in NFC North Rivalry

Week 11 odds in the NFL feature an NFC North clash between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns. NFL odds for this matchup have the Browns as 1-point home favorites, but the real eye-opener is an Over/Under which sits at just 32.5, one of the lowest totals in recent NFL betting history.

That number is even more shocking when you consider that the majority of games even close to this total had extreme weather, and this should be a relatively mild afternoon in Cleveland. With that said, here are my best free NFL picks for Steelers vs. Browns on November 19.

Best Super Bowl Touchdown Props: Pulling Out All the Stops

I’m still bitter that Detroit’s Anthony Firkser didn’t score in the NFC Championship game two weeks back, despite an opportunity handed to him on a platter.

I still got Isiah Pacheco at solid plus money, but with one last game, I’m taking the same approach as last week as I break down the Super Bowl touchdown props. Three tiers of plane breakers: the favorites, the mids, and the longshots.

For the final edition of TDs, which were profitable on the season at +4.395 units, my Super Bowl player props back a pair of KC pass catchers and gets creative with Christain McCaffrey’s NFL odds as the most probable TD scorer.

Here are my three best Super Bowl touchdown picks that you will find amongst Super Bowl odds this week.
